Below Sea Level introduces its first EP album "Desert Stories", with three related songs contrasting each other in mood and style, gradually increasing in tempo, imitating the ever accelerating expansion of the universe, while also drawing inspiration from the imposing landscape of the Baja California desert. First track "Big Empty" is a haunting and obscure composition performed mainly on one guitar, evoking feelings of desolation and uncertainty, gradually incorporating other guitar parts during the final section for a well orchestrated and emotive ending, giving way to the second track with "Dry River Song", which offers a dreamy and optimistic vibe with stronger melodic presence, setting up the final track "Valley of the Giants", an upbeat rhythmic piece with a progressive rock feel, that also projects a good dose of tranquility through crafty guitar dialogues, interesting harmonies, and expressive guitar solos. All music was written and recorded in 2021.
